Appraisal states:

Pǎng Tóng exceptionally enjoyed appraising people, was thorough in study and thoughtful in planning, at the time Jīng-Chǔ called him highly exceptional. Fǎ Zhèng clearly saw success or failure, had unusual plotting and strategy calculations, however he was not for a virtuous nature praised. Comparing them to Wèi’s ministers, was [Pǎng] Tǒng of Xún Yù’s level, [Fǎ] Zhèng of Chéng [Yù] and Guō [Jiā]’s class?

評曰：龐統雅好人流，經學思謀，于時荊、楚謂之高俊。法正著見成敗，有奇畫策算，然不以德素稱也。儗之魏臣，統其荀彧之仲叔，正其程、郭之儔儷邪？
